Insight on Knowledge, Risk Perception and Practices to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19: A Cross-Sectional Study among Italian University Students

Addressing adherence to non-pharmaceutical interventions among young adults represents a public health priority since this age group did not directly experience risk from COVID-19. The study aims were investigate the level of knowledge, perception and practices prevent spread COVID-19 undergraduate university students in Southern Italy. This cross-sectional was conducted between 1st 31st July 2020. An anonymous structured questionnaire sent via institutional email. Among 1323 sampled students, more than two-thirds gave correct answer all knowledge statements. Good about showed positive association with those studying medical or life sciences majors. Almost two-fifths (38.5%) sample declared have quite bit/extreme fear falling ill it significantly likely females good knowledge. Only 30.2% touch their face mask while using it. Moreover, practicing respiratory etiquette females, respondents higher levels who exhibited insights will be valuable for ongoing mitigation current pandemic especially regard use masks.
